House Guidance

Hoe Park House is much more than a holiday-let, it is our family home. When sharing our home, we kindly ask guests to take care and leave it in the condition in which they would wish to find it.

By making a confirmed booking at Hoe Park House, you and all members of your group confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with the House Guidance. If you are bringing a pet, please also read our Pet Guidance before arrival. These conditions form part of your booking and are in place for the safety, security, and comfort of all guests.

Please ensure that all members of your group familiarise themselves with the guidance in full prior to arrival, as adherence is required throughout your stay. We also recommend reviewing our helpful FAQs for additional practical information.

We want to ensure that your stay is enjoyable, safe and comfortable for everyone involved. To achieve this, please ensure you and your group follow the guidance below.

Check-In and Check-Out

Please note that check-in is from 15:00 onwards, and check-out is no later than 10:00. Our housekeepers work on a tight schedule, so we kindly request that all guests adhere to these times.

Key Safety

To simplify the process of sharing keys between guests, to prevent any loss, and enable access in an emergency, please always leave the keys in the key-safe when leaving the house.

Shoe Policy

We kindly ask that you remove your shoes when entering the house and use house shoes or slippers for your comfort and to maintain cleanliness.

No Naked Flames

For everyone’s safety, the use of naked flames, including candles, tea lights, and incense sticks, is strictly prohibited.

Fire Doors

The kitchen stairs door, sitting room doors, and bedroom doors are all fire doors. Please keep them closed at all times, especially at night. In the event of a fire, closed doors will slow the spread.

No Smoking or Vaping Inside

Smoking and vaping are strictly forbidden inside the house and will trigger the fire alarm. Any breach of this condition may result in immediate termination of the booking without refund.

Smoking and Vaping Outside

If you choose to smoke or vape outside, please ensure cigarette ends are disposed of responsibly. Ashtrays are provided in the utility room wall cupboard.

Hot Water Tank Cupboard

The hot water tank cupboard, located between the ground floor bathroom and the kitchen stair door, must be kept locked at all times to prevent children from accessing it.

Kitchen Under-Stair Cupboard

The under-stair cupboard on the left, housing items such as the ironing board, laundry stand, and vacuum cleaner, is designated for guest use.
All other cupboards are locked and not intended for general access.
Due to previous damage, we kindly ask that guests do not attempt to open any locked cupboards.

Thermostat Adjustment

Before leaving the house and upon departure, please remember to turn the wall-mounted thermostat on the ground floor down to 10°C.

Heating Controls

Please refrain from making adjustments to the gas boiler, immersion heater, or main heating and hot water controls. To adjust the heating, please use the wall-mounted thermostat and radiator controls.

Restricted Access

Children should not be allowed to access the immersion heater cupboard or the gas boiler in the utility room.

Reporting Damages

If you notice any missing or damaged items upon check-in, please inform us immediately so that we can take appropriate action. Any loss or damage may result in charges at the end of your stay.

Reporting Damages During Stay

In the event of any damages or breakages during your stay, please report them immediately via email, providing pictures whenever possible. This allows us to arrange replacements or repairs before the arrival of the next guests.

Proper Toilet Usage

Only toilet paper should be flushed down the toilets. Please use the bins provided for disposing of baby wipes, nappies, cleaning wipes, feminine hygiene products, paper towels, tissues, or any other refuse.

Disposal of Cooking Oils and Grease

Cooking oils, fats, and grease should not be disposed of in the sinks. Please use alternative methods for their disposal.
